With the realization that the environment I am in is just not welcoming to pair programming (I’ll keep trying though!) I made a call for help in the St.Louis area for someone, anyone, to pair with me so I can exercise my skills again. Last night @leebenjp and I met up at Borders to pair in on doing the Solitaire Cipher code kata from the ruby quiz in javascript using jspec to drive our development. Sadly we got slowed down because I remembered the kata, but took awhile to find it through google.
I must say that even getting 60 minutes of pairing in was a great relief! Of course there is only so much you can get done in a short amount of time, and the furthest we got was creating the operations for the DeckOfCards and the key stream generator that uses the deck to generate characters. I’ve posted the result to github.
Next week @zacduncan and I are planning to get together to do some more pair programming… if anyone else is interested feel free to join in!
